MAXIE MIRANDA Profile & Biography

Having made his debut in the international dance and music scene, Jose Maximiano De Miranda is now all set to rock Goa with Latin dances like Argentine Tango, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Forro, and also singing and playing the guitar. Fondly known as Maxie in his friends music circle, he has extensively traveled and performed at global music and dance hotspots like Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Portugal, and London. Besides traveling in South America. One of Maxie's highlights in his music career has been the performance with the legendary George Harisson of the "Beatles" fame, which made front page headlines in Goa in the year 1992. Besides, Maxie has also taught dance at London School of Economics, among several other institutions of international repute. Now in Goa, Maxie plans to share his vast skills in music and dance with the local teaching and student fraternity. He plans to conduct workshops for the music and dance teaching staff, besides teaching budding music and dance students.

Brief History In 1997 Maxie went to Portugal on a language and culture scholarship at the University of Lisbon, and in 1998 on a Guitar scholarship studying under Professor Manuel Morais, at the University of Evora. He was in Portugal for over two years where he also studied dance.

He has taught Guitar at the Kala Academy, Campal, from the year 1986 to 1994. Maxie played Double Bass with the Goa Symphony and State Orchestras, B.P. chamber and Bombay Chamber Orchestras. He has also sung with the Goa Philharmonic Choir and recently collaborated with the London based choir "The Pangea Chorus."
